Letter from Monty

Bonnie and I are pleased and honored to serve the family and friends of St. Paul’s Evangelical Covenant Church. We look forward to meeting and getting to know you.

We celebrated our 47th Wedding Anniversary on July 18 and have been active in pastoral ministry for as long… you can do the math but do not be deceived by the years. We are very young at heart, energetic and enjoy being in loving relationships and engaged in parish life.

Most recently for me, after sixteen years of pastoral ministry at Fellowship Covenant Church in Arvada, Colorado and for Bonnie sixteen years of ministry as Director of Social Services at Covenant Village of Colorado, we sold our home and moved to Wheaton.

We have three children.

Our oldest son, Patrick, passed away in 1993.

Our daughter Lorri, her husband Alby and their five children live here in Wheaton where Alby is an instructor at Glenbard West High School and Lorri is a CPA for a ministry that manages accounts for missionaries.

Our son Corky, his wife Amy and their three little boys live in West St. Paul, MN where Corky is a REMAX agent with his father-in-law and Amy is employed by 3M.

We love and enjoy our family. We are proud parents and grandparents…

Since moving to Wheaton, Bonnie has accepted a position at Windsor Park Manor (also a Covenant Retirement Community) and I have accepted a call to serve as your pastor here at St. Paul’s.

Please know that I am a pastor at heart. I want to be part of your lives and it is my sincerest desire to be a good and godly presence among you. As they say, “My door is always open.” Do not hesitate to reach out to me… I am however a good listener and will walk with you as you discern the work of God in your lives.

We have found you to be a gracious and loving Church. We are grateful for how you have so warmly welcomed us and feel so blessed by the opportunity and privilege to be part of the St. Paul’s faith community.

Sincerely,

Pastor Monty
